Finally, the power to follow through
When you want to make changes with food or your daily rhythms, or when you're trying to exercise self leadership with your inner community, you may bump into a part of you that puts on the brakes and says, "No!"
We can think of this part as your inner rebel.
Whether it's setting a limit (like eating less sugar) or creating something new (like exercising regularly), the inner rebel is a part of you that rears up with strong feelings of "No!" and resistance when you try to change.
This can be really frustrating! You may feel caught in a battle between your inner rebel and the parts of you that long to grow.
But developmentally, resistance often serves a positive function. It can also be a protector part that needs reassurance, listening, or safety before you can move forward.
Healing, momentum, and change aren't found by cutting out the resistant part, but by cultivating a curious, warm, attuned relationship with the places within us that say, "No!"
