The Binge Rescue Worksheet
Help prevent or care for a binge
When you feel overwhelmed by intense emotions or stress, you may feel strong urges to overeat or binge.
Overeating and binge eating 'work' because they’re energy releasing behaviors: they drain emotion and help you feel more safe, secure, and at rest. So they temporarily help you feel better - even though you may feel really frustrated or discouraged afterwards for using food in this way.
When you feel the impulse to binge, it helps to have another way to release this energy. One way to do this is with emotional support.
Emotional support functions as a “holding container” - helping the emotions drain and flow, soothing and regulating your nervous system. This emotional support is a way of caring for your emotional needs without food - so helpful!
The Binge Rescue worksheet walks you step by step through this process, and for those times when you need it most. You can use it when you feel like bingeing or to care for your emotions after a binge.
Folks tell us this is the most helpful tool we offer for binge eating. We hope it's a helpful tool for you, as well!
